Run Your Car on Water as Fuel. is This for Real?

John Delewese asked:
line reaching record prices these days it would be a good time to start rolling out the Hydrogen Powered Fuel Cell cars. Or, if we could alter our internal combustion engines to be more efficient it would be a start in fighting high fuel prices. There is a new technology out there that allows just this.
First of all, a car that can run on 100% water is years in the future. Scientists have been working years on a hydrogen fuel cell, the hydrogen powered car. This technology needs more developing before it can be affordable enough to be produced for the masses.
This article is about the results of researching several companies that have developed a 90+ year old idea and applied it to todays cars and trucks. It involves a process that separates water, h20, into a gas called HHO (2 hydrogen atoms + 1 oxygen atom.). This is also known as hydrogen-oxygen and hydroxy. It is produced with help from your car battery and is not stored but produced on an as needed basis. The system allows the HHO to be burned along with gasoline, which increases mileage and fuel efficiency.
The device that can make this happen and other parts of the system are readily available in hardware stores. All of the parts can be purchased for $200 or less. Installation can be done in just minutes. There is also a network of over 400 people who are making a living by manufacturing and installing these systems for people who just aren’t do-it-yourself-ers.
I have found no exaggerated claims by the companies that I researched. The process makes for a more efficient combustion process which results in a cleaner and quieter running engine. Depending on the age of the car or truck, mileage improvement ranges anywhere from 25% to 45% and higher. As of today, there are already thousands of people benefiting from a water-to-energy conversion. They have formed a network to share their experiences with each other and with people interested in converting their automobile.
In my research I have found that the overall wish is that this technology will be further developed to increase its efficiency even further, giving us one more way to lessen our use of fossil fuels and decrease carbon emissions.
If this is all a hoax it will surely be exposed and soon go away. If not then it should be tested scientifically and developed further. I will be following this technology closely over the coming months. I am a firm believer in the American spirit and ingenuity. Many of our greatest inventions were started in basements and garages by so called “armchair engineers”. Remember, the Apple computer and Amazon.com both had their start in the entrepreneurs own garage.

In the world of constantly rising cost of gasoline, hydrogen is one of our top fuel alternatives. There are already hydrogen-powered cars available on the road, however industry is still working on this project to make it more available to the public. There are ways of converting your vehicle but it is still very impractical. Some petroleum companies are also fighting this idea, but most do support it as it is clean fuel.
This may sound fantastical, like something out of a science fiction film but it isn’t. However, do not expect water to completely replace your need for gasoline. Converter kits are available today that allow your existing car to become more of a hydrogen hybrid. It allows you to add water to your car in order to fuel it. However, it is important to understand how the process exactly works. It is not the water that provides the energy. Water is made up of hydrogen and oxygen. When exposed to a process known as electrolysis, the hydrogen and oxygen are separated. The hydrogen can then be used to power the engine. Hydrogen is a very volatile gas. Due to this reason some people believe hydrogen-powered cars are a threat on the roads. However, the gasoline we use today is just as volatile. When used with car and common sense, hydrogen is no more dangerous to drivers than any other type of fuel. Another advantage is the decrease in pollution. When the internal combustion engine uses fossil fuels, they emit harmful chemicals into the atmosphere. These chemicals stay in the air and end up causing environmental threats, such as acid rain. With a hydrogen-powered car, the only emission is water vapor. While more water vapor may lead to more clouds and rain, it could also reduce the carcinogens in the air and prevent further damage to the planet. Besides the benefits to the environment and also to your wallet, water-powered cars have another advantage. They may extend the life of your car. Research suggests that water and hydrogen are not as hard on your engine as fossil fuels so it is likely to last longer and have fewer problems. It not only reduces your car’s maintenance costs but also helps is a higher resell value.
It is inexpensive to create such a kit. The cost ranges from $70 to $200 depending on where you purchase the components. Consider this one-off investment, as a good one as the fuel costs you can cut subsequently may be as much as 30% or more. That can amount to hundreds of dollars every month if you drive a lot. The conversion is entirely reversible. If you are not satisfied with the improvement in your gas mileage then you may always revert to the old-fashioned way.
